Research
This page is under construction... just a few random images of the debris covered Miage Glacier (Italian Alps). The DEM has been derived from ASTER bands 3N and 3B (I had some difficulties due to extremely steep slopes...); surface temperatures maps is the Surface Kinetic Temperature standard ASTER product. You can clearly see the warmer (red) debris cover, the Miage Lake and the colder (blue) areas of exposed ice, shadowy areas and so on)

Miage Glaicer, 15 m / pixel ASTER bands 1, 2 and 3 draped on the ASTER DEM

Miage Glaicer, Surface Kinetic Temperature standard ASTER product (visually enhanced by oversampling to 15 m resolution and substitution of the 15 m resolution near IR band 3 band to the temperature map luminance in Lab colour space) computed from the 90 m/pixel ASTER TIR bands and draped on the ASTER DEM
